Fracture Physiotherapy
Fracture Physiotherapy is an important part of rehabilitation after a bone fracture. Although the bone requires time to heal, prolonged immobilization can lead to stiffness, muscle weakness, reduced mobility, swelling, balance problems, and difficulty returning to normal activities. Physiotherapy helps guide the recovery process once movement and exercise are medically appropriate.
At Rapid Recovery Physio, we provide individualized fracture rehabilitation programs based on the type and location of the fracture, stage of bone healing, surgical or non-surgical treatment, weight-bearing restrictions, and the patient's functional goals.
What Is Fracture Rehabilitation
A fracture occurs when a bone is partially or completely broken. Treatment may involve immobilization with a cast or brace, or surgical fixation using appropriate orthopedic procedures.
Once the bone is sufficiently healed and rehabilitation is medically appropriate, physiotherapy can help restore the physical abilities that may have been affected during the healing period.
